Every release of the site itself - new pages, datasets going live, and fixes -
with a version number. Current version: v0.10.17. Corrections and
fee changes to the data are a different question and live on
the change log, each with its authority and effective date.
How versions work
While the site is in beta, versions follow 0.minor.patch: the
minor number bumps when a batch of user-visible capability ships, the patch number for
same-day fixes. Version 1.0.00 lands when the feature surface stabilizes and the datasets
have been audited end to end.
v0.10.172026-10-07current
Filing-office closures: the extra-days column now shows every holiday.
On the filing-office closures analysis, the jurisdiction table's final column listed each state's extra closure days but cut the list off after a fixed number of characters, so the longer lists (Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, Texas, the US Virgin Islands, West Virginia) ended mid-word. The full list now renders and wraps inside the cell.
All changes in v0.10.17 (1)
Fixed
Extra-days column clipped
The builder no longer truncates the holiday list in the 2026 jurisdiction table on the closures analysis page.
v0.10.162026-10-05
Statute-text library PDF copies now open.
The PDF captures the statute-text library lists (172 official chapter files across the states) now download; until this release the pages linked them but the files were not on the server, so every PDF link returned not found. Text extracts were unaffected.
All changes in v0.10.16 (1)
Fixed
Library PDF links
The release packaging now carries PDF, Markdown, RTF and ODT captures alongside the text extracts.
v0.10.152026-10-05
The statute-text library carries Utah's recodified chapters beside the superseded captures.
The Utah shelf of the statute-text library now holds the chapters in force since October 1, 2026 (Title 16 chapters 1a, 18, 19, 20 and 21 and the re-enacted Title 42 chapter 2) as dated captures, next to the pre-October files they replace, so every Utah citation on the site resolves to a readable copy of the current text.
All changes in v0.10.15 (1)
Improved
Utah statute-text shelf
Twelve new files (six chapter PDFs and their text extracts) published; the superseded captures stay listed with their dates for anyone checking a pre-October citation.
v0.10.142026-10-05
Utah's registered-agent, dissolution, foreign-qualification and name rules now read as the recodified code states them.
Dissolution, foreign-qualification, registered-agent, name-reservation and D.B.A. entries for Utah were re-read against the chapters in force since October 1, 2026 and re-stated where the rule changed; where a former rule has no successor, the entry says so and names the section that now governs the subject.
v0.10.132026-10-05
Utah's citations follow its recodified business-entity code; five more states' statute sections render from their official publishers.
Every Utah statute citation on the site now points at the chapters in force since October 1, 2026 (Title 16 chapters 1a, 18, 19 and 20 and the re-enacted Title 42 chapter 2), with the former section number shown beside it and quotes re-taken from the current text. Fee amounts and filing rules did not change in this release.
Colorado, Georgia, Mississippi, the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania statute sections that were held back now render: their codes are read from the publication each jurisdiction designates as official (the contracted publisher of record for the first three, the Council of the District of Columbia's code site, and the Pennsylvania General Assembly's site).
All changes in v0.10.13 (2)
Data
Utah recodification
S.B. 40 and S.B. 41 of the 2026 General Session moved Utah's partnership, limited partnership and LLC acts from Title 48 into Title 16 and gathered registered-agent, name, foreign-entity and administrative-dissolution rules into a new chapter 16-1a. Citations across the Utah record, the fee tables and the registered-agent, dissolution, foreign-qualification, name-reservation and D.B.A. pages were re-sourced to the new sections; each shows its former number.
Improved
Official-publisher sources
Statute sections for Colorado, Georgia, Mississippi, the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania now cite the publication each jurisdiction designates as its official code; Arkansas and Tennessee remain withheld until the same can be shown.
v0.10.122026-10-01
Louisiana's Act 921 fee schedule and the District of Columbia's $5 dissolution fees are in force.
District of Columbia dissolution-family filings (articles of dissolution, dissolution by incorporators, revocation of dissolution, LLC statement of dissolution, statutory trust dissolution) now read $5, down from $220 and $80, under D.C. Acts 26-416 and 26-418.
All changes in v0.10.12 (2)
Data
Scheduled fee changes activated on their effective date
The future-effective entries recorded in September became the current values at the start of 2026-10-01 UTC; the prior amounts stay on each record as superseded values. Louisiana's formation and annual-report remittances follow the new statutory amounts with the state's $5 card fee unchanged.
New
A guide for AI assistants: /llms.txt and an explicit robots.txt
The site now publishes /llms.txt (what incFACTS is, the record classes, how to look a jurisdiction up, the sitemap, the MCP endpoint and the attribution line) and /llms-full.txt (every indexable page with its title), and a robots.txt that welcomes every crawler and names the AI crawlers as allowed; only search-result pages are kept out. Nothing about the pages themselves changed.
106 changes across 18 jurisdictions from a practitioner verification of the fee tables: nine value corrections, online versus paper splits recorded, and every bundled component typed by who receives it. South Carolina's corporation remittance keeps the attorney certificate as a required third-party component.
Data
Agency answers folded in
Written answers from the Tennessee, Oklahoma, Nevada, South Dakota, Guam and Rhode Island filing offices, and from five offices on name reservation fees, are recorded on the rows they confirm. Rows sourced this way show the basis 'written answer from the agency' with the office and date.
v0.10.102026-09-30
Fee tables say how each figure is known, the remittance column is named for what it is, and pages can be cited on a wiki.
Each fee row's components column ends with the basis of the figure shown. Rows without a stated basis are published values, the legacy default.
New
Wikipedia cite tab
A fourth tab in the Cite block emits a {{cite web}} template with the page's permanent address, version, data-as-of date and today's date. The cite guide's new sections say which figures this site is the primary source for and that a template is a reference, not an endorsement.
v0.10.092026-09-30
The office-closure banner names the closed jurisdiction when only one or two are closed.
The closure feed now carries each jurisdiction's display name, and the banner script names one or two closed jurisdictions outright. Counts stay for three or more. Both editions. No data changed.
The annual report entry now names Nevada's annual list ('AL') among the state-specific names for the same filing, and the annual list entry says so in its first sentence.
All changes in v0.10.08 (1)
Improved
Glossary cross-reference
Annual report and AL (annual list) each point at the other as the same recurring filing. No data changed.
v0.10.072026-09-21
Pages at the directory-style addresses load their styling, search and icons again.
Every page now names its stylesheet, search script and icons by their site-root path, so the page renders the same at /nevada/ as it did at /nevada.html.
All changes in v0.10.07 (1)
Fixed
Unstyled pages at directory-style addresses
Since the .html addresses began redirecting to the directory-style form, pages loaded as plain unstyled text because the stylesheet, search script and icon links were written relative to the old file location and resolved to addresses that do not exist. All of them are now site-root paths. No data changed.
v0.10.062026-09-19
Every page now links to the canonical directory-style address, and the old .html addresses redirect to it.
Internal links, the navigation and the search results use the same address form the sitemap and canonical tags have always named (for example /nevada/ rather than /nevada.html), so search engines and readers see one address per page.
The industry-codes analysis reflects the expanded state option lists: 31 lists including Alaska's full NAICS picklist and Nebraska's business classification codes.
All changes in v0.10.06 (2)
Improved
Canonical addresses everywhere
All internal links (English and Spanish), the header navigation, the search index and the search form point at the directory-style URL; the flat .html form now answers with a permanent redirect.
Improved
Industry codes on filings
The state option-list counts and the Alaska / Nebraska / New Hampshire picklist findings from the 2026-09-18 research.
v0.10.052026-09-18
Dataset markup now names incFACTS as the creator and points at the reuse terms.
Every dataset description in the site's structured data now carries the publisher (incFACTS) and a link to the reuse terms on the How to cite page, so search engines can show the data's provenance and licence correctly.
All changes in v0.10.05 (2)
Improved
Dataset structured data
creator and license fields on every Dataset block (analysis pages, the LLC formation-fee comparison, the homepage dataset list, the certificate-of-good-standing page).
Improved
How to cite
The Reuse section is now the addressable terms page (/cite/#reuse) the markup references.
v0.10.042026-09-15
A proper link preview: sharing any incFACTS page now shows the brand card.
Pasting an incFACTS link into a chat or social post now renders a branded preview card - the mark, the wordmark and the tagline over the library plate - with the image size and a text alternative declared, in both editions.
All changes in v0.10.04 (2)
Improved
Social preview card
New 1200 x 630 JPEG card at /og.jpg; the earlier PNG stays in place for services that cached it.
Improved
Preview metadata
Image type, width, height and alt text declared on every page, English and Spanish.
The UCC records section of every jurisdiction page now states the UCC-1 initial filing fee in the filing office's own words (online and paper where they differ, per-page and per-debtor increments, portal surcharges), whether the office accepts paper at all and since when, the filing expedite tiers it offers, the UCC-3 amendment fees where the same schedule prints them, and how many years a financing statement stays effective under the state's Article 9.
All changes in v0.10.03 (3)
Data
UCC filing fees
UCC-1 fee, channels, expedite and effectiveness period for the filing jurisdictions, each verified against the office's own schedule or the fee statute; rows still under review are marked provisional or withheld.
Improved
Other records
The older statute-derived UCC-1 line is retired wherever the verified filing record now covers the jurisdiction.
Improved
Coverage page
A UCC filing fees row alongside UCC search facts.
v0.10.022026-09-14
Site search: a search box in the header of every page, with suggestions as you type.
Type a jurisdiction name or its two-letter code, a fee or statute topic, a glossary term or a filing office into the header box and matching pages appear as you type, grouped as jurisdictions, topics and filing offices. Enter with a two-letter code goes straight to that jurisdiction; Enter otherwise opens a results page with every match. The Spanish edition has the same box over its own pages. Search works entirely in the browser from a page index built with the site, so nothing you type leaves your device.
All changes in v0.10.02 (2)
New
Header search box
On every page, both editions, with keyboard navigation and a full results page as the fallback.
New
Search results page
/search.html lists every matching jurisdiction, topic and filing office for a query.
v0.10.012026-09-12
Gaps closed on the coverage page: Guam joins the citation, calendar and DBA records; the LLC cost ranking resolves its last five entity-tax floors.
Guam was the one jurisdiction with no statute citations, no closure calendar and no DBA record. It now has all three: ten verbatim citations from the Guam Code Annotated across the five topics (registered agent, formation, annual report, administrative dissolution, name rules), a verified 2026 closure calendar with the 2027 dates derived from the statute pending publication, and the fictitious-name filing record. The cost-to-keep-an-LLC-alive ranking now resolves Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, South Carolina and Wyoming, which previously showed 'not resolved' for the entity-level tax floor. The coverage page's citation gap is now computed from the record instead of a frozen sentence.
All changes in v0.10.01 (7)
Data
Guam statute citations
Ten citations, corporation and LLC, each quoted from the Compiler of Laws chapter files; two are positive absences (no mandatory registered agent and no administrative dissolution for corporations).
Data
Guam closure calendar
2026 verified against the Department of Revenue and Taxation's holiday page; 2027 follows the statutory rules until the official schedule appears.
Data
Guam DBA record
Fictitious-name certificates filed with the Department of Revenue and Taxation under 18 GCA Chapter 26.
Data
LLC entity-tax floors
Kentucky's $175 LLET minimum stands alone; Arkansas, Delaware and Wyoming are counted once inside the annual-report figure; South Carolina's license fee does not reach LLCs.
Data
More fees, contacts and channels verified
Twenty-three more fee records, ninety-one filing-office contacts and the last nine filing-channel rows cleared the publication gate; two New Jersey county DBA fees filled from the statute; every Georgia county row without a published total now states the statutory floor.
Improved
Coverage page
The statute-citation gap is computed from the record: five topics, and which jurisdictions still lack rows.
Fixed
Section images
The four section photographs were missing from the last three releases and are back.
v0.10.002026-09-11
The complete record on every state page: business licensing, industry codes, counties, and the reference lists.
Every state page gains three sections. State business license: whether a general licence exists (a cited 'none' in most states), who must hold it, the agency, statute, fees, renewal cadence, penalty, exemptions, how to file, the revenue-department registration, the occupational-licensing hub and the local layer. Industry code on filings: which of the state's filings ask for a NAICS or SIC code, the state's own category list or a description, with the state's option list where it was captured. Counties: every county-equivalent with its type and code. Two analysis pages read those across all 54 jurisdictions, and a reference page holds the NAICS 2022 sectors, the SIC 1987 divisions and the bridge between them. The fee table now labels the change-of-registered-agent fee.
All changes in v0.10.00 (8)
New
State business license section
Cited either way: a state with no general licence says so with the agency page that shows it.
New
Industry code on filings section
One row per filing; expandable option lists where the state prints its own categories.
New
Counties section
County-equivalents from the Census 2020 county codes; seats and sites follow when verified.
New
Analysis: which states require a general business license
Tile map, the licensed jurisdictions with fees and penalties, and the rest with their local layer.
New
Analysis: which filings ask for an industry code
A 54-row grid across six filing types.
New
Reference: NAICS 2022 and SIC 1987
Sectors, divisions, major groups and how the Census bridge connects the two lists.
Improved
Site icons and social previews
A full icon set (favicon, touch icon, manifest) and default social-preview tags on every page.
Data
Change-of-registered-agent fee
The fee table names the transaction instead of printing its record key.
v0.9.082026-09-11
Cite this page: ready-made citations on every page, and a how-to-cite guide.
Every state record, analysis page and glossary entry now ends with a citation block: a plain reference, a legal-style reference and a BibTeX entry, each with the page's permanent address, the site version, the data-as-of date and today's date filled in. One click copies it. A new How to cite page explains when to cite incFACTS and when to cite the official source a fact rests on.
All changes in v0.9.08 (2)
New
Three formats per page (plain, legal, BibTeX) with copy buttons. The block names the release and the data-as-of date so a reader can tell which version they relied on.
New
How to cite incFACTS
A short guide: cite the page for the compilation and its verification record, cite the official statute or fee schedule shown on the row for the underlying fact, and link back.
v0.9.072026-09-11
UCC records: where to search each state's financing statements, and on what terms.
Every state page now carries a UCC records section: the office that keeps Article 9 financing statements (thirteen jurisdictions file them somewhere other than the Secretary of State), the official search page, whether searching is free, registration-only, per-search, subscription or not offered to the public, the office's own fee wording, filing images, the filing portal and whether bulk data is sold. UCC division phone numbers, emails and addresses join the contact table.
All changes in v0.9.07 (3)
New
UCC records section on every state page
Filing office, official search entry, access terms and search fees as the office states them, filing images online, UCC program page, online filing portal and the bulk-data program status, each verified against the filing office's own pages. Three jurisdictions are recorded as offering no public online search, which is a verified finding, not a gap.
Data
UCC division contacts
The contact table on each state page gains the UCC division's own phone, email, fax, mailing address or contact form where the office publishes one, labelled UCC.
Data
Coverage: UCC search facts
A new coverage row reports the 54 jurisdiction records and how many are verified. Nevada's search entry stays provisional until the ORION platform opens on September 14.
v0.9.062026-09-08
Agency notices in the closure banner: Nevada's SilverFlume to ORION cutover.
The closure banner now also carries notices a filing office has announced about its own service, dated and labelled as announced. First notice: the Nevada Secretary of State says SilverFlume goes offline Wednesday, September 9 at 5:00 pm and the new ORION platform opens Monday, September 14 at 5:00 am, with no filings processed in between.
All changes in v0.9.06 (1)
Data
Announced agency notices
A new notices record holds time-boxed announcements from state filing offices: system cutovers, processing pauses and the like, with the agency's own words and the date it said them. The home page and the affected state's page show a notice that is in effect or starts within the next two weeks, always with the announced-on date and a caveat that announced dates can move. Verified holiday closures are unchanged.
v0.9.052026-09-08
DBA fee rows reworded in plain language; figures unchanged.
The 21 filing-office fee rows added this morning carried the researcher's working notes as their amount text. Each now reads as one or two plain sentences with the same verified figures, citations and forms. California's row was removed because the five statutory rows already state its fees; the county-adjustment caveat returns to that state's known gaps.
All changes in v0.9.05 (2)
Fixed
Plain-language amounts on filing-office fee rows
Internal review tags, capitals for emphasis and one serialized list were replaced by readable text. No figure, statute cite or form number changed; every value still traces to the official source checked on September 4.
Improved
Shorter row label
The row is now labelled 'Filing fee (published by the filing office)'.
v0.9.042026-09-08
DBA filing fees filled in for 21 states whose act prints no figure.
Thirty state DBA pages had said the assumed-name act itself states no filing fee. For 21 of them the fee as published by the filing office is now shown, each with its official source and the reason the act prints no figure (a county clerk fee statute, an agency fee schedule, or a cross-referenced fee table). Where the fee varies by county, the page points to the county table already carried on the site.
All changes in v0.9.04 (2)
Data
DBA filing fees carried in from the filing-office source
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Utah, Washington and West Virginia each gain a fee row on the DBA legal profile. Nevada, for example, shows the county-clerk fee under NRS 19.013: $20 base, $25 maximum. Every carried row keeps the verification it already held.
Improved
Honest gaps kept
Eleven states keep a fee gap because it concerns a fee the site does not hold at the state level: county recorder fees for individuals in Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana and Wisconsin, Maine's municipal fee, renewal and other sub-fees in Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island and the Virgin Islands, and Kansas, which has no act.
v0.9.032026-09-07
Recent fee changes: review confirmations no longer listed as changes.
The homepage 'Recent fee changes' block, the change log and the forward calendar now list only entries whose value or citation actually changed. Confirmations that re-verified a fee at its existing figure had been appearing as changes from one amount to the same amount.
All changes in v0.9.03 (2)
Fixed
Review confirmations are not fee changes
Arkansas showed '22 filing fees revised' with rows such as LLC formation $45.00 to $45.00. Those rows were verification confirmations recorded on September 4, not changes; they are excluded now. The Arkansas card keeps the real changes: the certificate of good standing rising from $15.00 to $25.00, the $28.00 online figure, and the new $15.00 certificate of existence.
Improved
Certificate of existence labelled
The certificate of existence transaction now carries its plain-language label in both editions instead of the internal field name.
v0.9.022026-09-06
County DBA fees verified at the clerk's own pages; copyright and use notice.
Every county and town DBA filing-fee row was checked against the county or town clerk's own page: 587 of 782 rows are now verified, 313 fees were filled in or corrected from the official source, and each row shows its own status. A copyright and use notice now sits in the footer of both editions.
All changes in v0.9.02 (3)
Data
County DBA fees verified
The 782 county and town rows behind the DBA regime pages were re-read at the clerk's own site or the statutory schedule (Connecticut's $20 town-clerk fee under P.A. 24-111, for example). 280 confirmed, 300 filled where no fee had been recorded, 16 corrected, and 185 left pending where no official statement could be found. Each row in a jurisdiction's county table now carries its status.
Improved
Inventory: legacy entity-tax row retired
The research-substrate entity-tax record has left the public inventory; the structured, verified entity-tax dataset is the one that counts. The substrate still informs the LLC cost model where the structured record is silent.
Improved
Copyright and use notice
The footer states what is and is not claimed: statutory text is public law and not subject to copyright; the compilation, verification records, analyses, glossary and presentation are. Facts may be quoted with attribution and a link; bulk reuse of the compilation requires permission.
v0.9.012026-09-05
Upcoming office closures flagged on the home page and every jurisdiction page.
When a verified filing-office closure falls within the next two weeks, the home page says so - which day, which holiday, how many jurisdictions close - and each jurisdiction page says whether its own offices close. The notice appears ahead of the day and disappears after it, without a new release.
All changes in v0.9.01 (1)
New
Office-closure notice
A small feed of verified closures (only calendars that cleared the review gate) is published with the site; the notice is composed in your browser against your own date, so it is current whenever you look. Both editions. Jurisdictions without a verified calendar for a date are counted as such, never guessed. Nothing changes for readers with scripts disabled.
v0.9.002026-09-04
The review gate opens: fees, closure calendars, DBA profiles and more re-verified at source.
Every canonical filing fee, every filing-office closure calendar, every DBA legal profile record, the DBA regimes, the remaining filing-channel rows and the territories' governance and status vocabulary were independently re-verified against official sources on 2026-09-04. Records that passed now render as verified with the official page as their authority; records that did not say why.
All changes in v0.9.00 (5)
Data
Canonical filing fees verified at official sources
703 of the 794 fee values on this site were confirmed against the filing agency's own published schedule or the statute and cleared the review gate; their cells, the jurisdiction fee tables and the cost models now show the verified mark with the official page as the authority. The 91 that did not clear are marked pending review with the reason: a portal surcharge no official page states, a value the official source contradicts (held for a correction), or a source that could not be reached.
Data
Filing-office closure calendars verified
Every 2026 calendar and the 2027 calendars the states have already published were checked row by row against the official state holiday schedules; 77 of 107 are verified, with Puerto Rico's 2027 territorial holidays and several election-day and observance rows added. The 2027 calendars most states have not yet published stay pending review until they do.
Data
DBA legal profiles verified against the statute text
913 of 914 records - excerpts, citations, fee amounts and FAQ answers - were checked word by word against the statute corpus and cleared the gate. One Puerto Rico publication record was refuted (the regulation does require a gazette notice) and is held pending correction.
Data
DBA regimes, filing channels, territories
The 53 DBA regime profiles, the 38 filing-channel rows still pending, the Puerto Rico and Guam governance rules and the Puerto Rico, Guam and US Virgin Islands good-standing vocabulary were re-verified at official sources; the inventory table on the home page and the coverage page carry the outcome per dataset, computed from the records at build time.
Improved
Inventory and coverage tell the truth per dataset
The home-page inventory now states, for every dataset, how many records are verified out of how many held, and why the remainder are not; the coverage page's fee-provenance gap is restated with the numbers. A record acquired from an internal source and later verified against the official page is treated as verified, with its acquisition history kept as evidence.
v0.8.032026-09-04
Recent fee changes moved below the headline figures.
The homepage now leads with the record's headline figures - records held, jurisdictions, verified citations - and the recent fee changes follow directly beneath them, in both editions.
All changes in v0.8.03 (2)
Improved
Recent fee changes one level down
The news-style block introduced in v0.8.02 sits below the headline figures instead of directly under the masthead, so the page opens on what the record holds and then on what has changed in it. The Spanish edition places it below the citation-and-verification note. Content and links are unchanged.
Improved
Statute library filenames
Forty-five files in the Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee statute libraries were renamed so that no filename names a commercial code publisher. The texts themselves are byte-for-byte unchanged, and the build check that keeps the publisher's name out of visible text now covers the library pages as well.
v0.8.022026-09-03
Recent fee changes featured on the homepage.
The homepage now opens with the latest fee changes and corrections to the record - enacted changes about to take effect and the newest corrections - each computed from the data, dated, and linked to the jurisdiction page and the full log. The Spanish edition carries the same block.
All changes in v0.8.02 (2)
New
Recent fee changes on the homepage
A news-style block under the masthead, in both editions, lists up to six items newest first: fee changes already enacted with an effective date inside the next 120 days, and the latest applied corrections, each with the old and new value, the effective or recorded date, the authority where it resolves to an official source, and links to the jurisdiction page and to the change log or forward calendar. A cross-jurisdiction wave collapses to one item. Nothing is typed by hand; if there is nothing to show, the block is not rendered.
Improved
Release notes reworded to name no commercial publisher
The v0.8.00 release notes referred to a commercial code publisher by name; they now describe the change without it, and the build check fails if the name appears in the visible text of any page outside the statute text library's own corpus filenames.
v0.8.012026-09-02
Statute library: derived text extracts and range-listed sections restored; Florida chapters restored.
Statute library: derived text extracts and range-listed sections restored; Florida chapters restored.
All changes in v0.8.01 (1)
Fixed
Statute text library coverage
Plain-text extracts of manifested captures and section files a manifest lists as a numbered range are published again, and the Florida chapters return to the library. The leak guard on raw captures no longer trips on a state site's own navigation markup.
v0.8.002026-09-02
Outbound links restricted to official publishers, gate hardening, statute-library sanitization, live build date.
No page links a commercial code publisher as a source any more. Where a state publishes its code only through one, the citation stands on its own and the page says 'publisher not linked' instead of 'pending review'.
Every quotation on the site is now proven, at build time, to come from a record that has cleared the review gate; the count held back is stated on the statutes page and on each jurisdiction page.
The statute text library publishes only the files each jurisdiction's manifest enumerates, with scripts, trackers and external resources stripped from every raw capture and search engines told to stay out.
Dates are live: 'days from this build' and recheck rings count from the day the site was generated, and every 'retrieved' date is read from the data.
All changes in v0.8.00 (9)
Fixed
Commercial publisher links removed
The data change log and the upcoming-changes calendar carried links to a commercial code publisher for one state's fee change. The link gate now applies to every outbound link on the site, so it cannot recur anywhere.
Improved
Verified, not linkable
A citation whose only official publisher cannot be linked now shows as verified with a 'publisher not linked' note, rather than being downgraded to 'pending review'. Verification and linkability are separate questions.
Improved
Review gate enforced in the build
Every statute quotation is traced to its record's review status when the page is generated; a quotation below the bar stops the build. The share of the dataset shown is computed, not asserted.
Improved
Statute text library sanitized
Raw captures are republished only when the jurisdiction's manifest lists them, with scripts, event handlers, frames, external stylesheets and unsafe links stripped, and a no-index instruction in every copy. Files no longer sourced are removed.
Fixed
Live build date
The site was generated against a fixed date; it is now dated the day it is built, so 'becomes $X on ...' and 'days from this build' cannot go stale. A calendar with nothing pending says so instead of failing.
Fixed
Certificate-of-good-standing rows at full review
Rows promoted to verified were dropping out of the ranking; values now render from provisional review upward and citations appear once a row is verified.
Fixed
Glossary links out of verbatim text
Dotted glossary links no longer appear inside quoted statute text, status chips, citation identifiers or charts.
Improved
Titles and summaries computed from the data
Citation counts, jurisdiction counts, fee figures and retrieval dates in page titles and summaries are read from the datasets; links to files that did not exist were removed.
New
Build invariant check
Every build now ends with an automated check of the generated pages (no publisher links, no-index on raw copies, sitemap integrity, every quotation traceable to a verified record) and refuses to finish if any fails.
v0.7.002026-08-20
LP, LLP, and LLLP filing fees on every state page, and governance rules with the statutory text behind each one.
Every jurisdiction page's fee table now covers limited partnerships, LLPs, and LLLPs alongside LLCs and corporations - formation and annual-report fees, verified against each state's statute or official fee schedule.
Where a state offers no such entity or requires no report, the table says so explicitly and cites the statute that proves it - an absence you can verify is a finding, not a blank.
Each state's governance rules - organizational and annual meetings, action by written consent, mandatory bylaws and operating agreements - now render with their citation, a verbatim quote from the official code, and a link to the section itself.
New analysis page: which states mandate annual meetings, bylaws, and operating agreements, compared across every jurisdiction at once.
All changes in v0.7.00 (5)
Data
LP / LLP / LLLP fees on every jurisdiction page
Formation and annual-report fees for limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, and limited liability limited partnerships join the canonical fee tables, each verified against the state's own statute or published schedule.
Data
Positive absences, cited
Not every state offers an LLLP election, and in several states an LP owes no periodic report at all. Those rows now read 'not offered' or 'no report required' with the statutory citation whose silence or contrast proves the absence - never an empty cell.
Improved
Governance rules, verified and quoted
The governance section on each jurisdiction page previously showed values only, everything marked pending review. The rules are now verified: each carries its citation, the verbatim statutory text, and a link to the official code section. Puerto Rico's record remains provisionally reviewed - its values render, its citations wait for the review pass.
New
Governance-rules analysis page
One table across every jurisdiction: who requires an annual shareholder or member meeting, who allows written consent instead, where bylaws are mandatory, and the few states that require an LLC operating agreement.
incFACTS en español: 53 state fee pages, the full glossary, and cost rankings - with staff-translated statute quotes in both directions.
A Spanish edition lives at /es/: every state's formation, annual-report, and certificate fees, franchise-tax regimes, the glossary, and both cost-of-ownership rankings, written in professional Spanish - not machine translation.
Statute quotes always stay verbatim in their source language; a quote in the other language carries an incFACTS staff translation below it, clearly disclaimed as not certified. Puerto Rico's statutes are quoted in Spanish because Spanish is their source language.
Search engines route Spanish-language users to /es/ automatically (hreflang); Spanish-set browsers visiting an English page get a polite, dismissible suggestion - never a forced redirect.
All changes in v0.6.00 (4)
New
Spanish edition at /es/
89 pages: portada, 53 jurisdiction fee pages on the same slugs as English, glosario with every term, both cost rankings, and que-es-facts. The same citation and review-status gates apply - values below the verification bar are withheld identically in both languages.
New
Staff-translated statute quotes, both directions
On English pages, Puerto Rico's Spanish statutory text carries an English staff translation; on Spanish pages, each state's primary verified statute quote carries a Spanish staff translation. Every gloss is marked as an incFACTS staff translation, not certified.
New
Language suggestion banner
Browsers set to Spanish see a dismissible "Esta página está disponible en español" bar on pages that have a Spanish counterpart. The choice is remembered; there is no automatic redirect.
Improved
hreflang alternates
Every paired page declares its English and Spanish alternates and an x-default, so search results serve the right language directly.
v0.5.022026-08-16
Glossary pages no longer link to themselves.
A glossary term's own page was rendering the term in its breadcrumb as a dotted link with a tooltip - for the page you were already reading. Self-links are gone, and the footer note on every term page reads cleanly.
All changes in v0.5.02 (2)
Fixed
Self-referencing term links on glossary pages
The automatic term-linker treated a glossary page's own term like any other mention, producing a self-link with a hover tooltip in the breadcrumb. A term page no longer links to itself.
Improved
Term-page footer note
The note under each definition now reads: dot-underlined mentions of this term across the site lead back to this page.
v0.5.012026-08-16
Fixed truncated authority citations on the change log, and Mississippi/Tennessee banking words land from official captures.
Change-log and upcoming-changes entries no longer cut an authority citation off mid-parenthesis.
Mississippi and Tennessee restricted-name banking words are now published, sourced from each state's official code publisher.
All changes in v0.5.01 (2)
Fixed
Authority citations trimmed mid-parenthesis
Citations were shortened at the first semicolon even when it sat inside a parenthetical, leaving an unclosed paren (seen on the Puerto Rico entry). Trimming now respects parentheses.
Data
MS and TN banking-word restrictions
Mississippi restricts bank, banker, bankers, banking, and trust company (an eligibility rule - the entity must be chartered as a bank); Tennessee restricts bank, banks, banking, and the bare word trust, each with a commissioner-consent path. Both sourced from the state's official code publisher and quoted verbatim.
v0.5.002026-08-16
Site versioning and this what's-new page.
incFACTS now carries a public version number and release notes - this page. The header pill shows the current version and lights up when a release you haven't seen ships.
Data corrections remain on the change log; this page covers the site itself.
All changes in v0.5.00 (2)
New
What's-new page and version pill
Every release is documented here with its user-visible changes. The header pill links to this page and shows a dot until you've seen the current release. Versioning follows 0.minor.patch while in beta; 1.0.00 lands when the feature surface stabilizes.
Improved
Change log cross-links
The change log (data corrections) and this page (site releases) now reference each other so it's clear which question each answers.
Every jurisdiction page now shows its franchise-tax regime - basis, minimum, maximum, and due date - or an explicit statement that the state levies none.
New: the cost to keep a corporation alive, ranked for all 54 jurisdictions - from $35/year (Montana) to $875/year (Nevada), a 25x spread.
Every state hub now lists the filing office's verified contact points and which filing channels (online, mail, fax, in person, email) the office actually accepts.
All changes in v0.4.00 (7)
Data
Franchise-tax dataset published
Structured records for all 54 jurisdictions: 29 states levy a franchise or equivalent privilege tax, 25 demonstrably do not. Each taxing state carries basis, rates, minimum/maximum, due date, and citation; each no-tax state carries the affirmative finding.
New
Cost to keep a corporation alive
Ranks the recurring annual cost of corporate existence - report fees plus franchise minimums - across every jurisdiction, with the franchise-equals-annual-report states counted once, not twice.
New
State office contacts on every hub
Verified phone, mail, and portal contact points for each filing office, with the best-for-filings point called out. Source-linked where the office publishes the point we verified.
New
Filing channels on every hub
Which submission channels each state actually accepts, per filing type - including where online filing is mandatory and where fax is officially dead.
New
Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands hub pages
PR and USVI now have full jurisdiction pages; canonical fee coverage reaches all 54 U.S. jurisdictions.
Fixed
Filing-channels section rendered on one state only
A stale loader kept channel tables off every hub except Florida even though the data existed for all 54. All hubs now render them.
Fixed
DBA fee chart crash
The county-DBA chart's California parser predated the current dataset shape and could take down the whole page build. Rewritten against the current shape.
v0.3.002026-08-13
Fee changes that have taken effect no longer show as upcoming.
Pages that list enacted-but-future fee changes now adjudicate the effective date at build time: once a change matures, it renders as in force - never as still coming.
All changes in v0.3.00 (1)
Improved
Effective-date adjudication
An enacted change used to be written as 'upcoming' and could read that way after its effective date passed. Every rebuilt page now renders matured changes as 'now in effect' with the date they landed.
v0.2.002026-08-12
Glossary search, a table view, and four industry abbreviations.
The glossary is now searchable as you type, and can be read as cards or as a compact table - your choice persists.
The site is live at incfacts.com: every U.S. jurisdiction's business-entity filing fees with citation, source, and verification date on every value.
Restricted and prohibited entity-name words now cover all 54 jurisdictions, not just Nevada.
Programmatic access ships as a subscription tier: a read-only API and an MCP server that answers fee, statute, and jurisdiction questions with the same citations the site shows.
All changes in v0.1.00 (5)
New
Jurisdiction hubs for every state
Formation, annual-report, and certificate fees with the statutory citation, the official source, the retrieval date, and the review status of every value.
New
Statute reference pages
The entity statutes behind the numbers, quoted verbatim from official publishers, with elisions marked.
Data
Restricted words: all 54 jurisdictions
Which words a state restricts or prohibits in an entity name, the statute that says so, and what consent unlocks them - expanded from Nevada-only to national coverage.
New
API & MCP subscription tier
Read-only programmatic access carrying the same citations and review-status gates as the site. Certificate-fee comparison and discrepancy reporting included.
Cite the page for the compilation and its verification record; for the underlying fact, cite the official source shown on its row. Formats:
